Apple iPhone users can now use their phones as Navigo cards on Paris public transport

Île-de-France Mobilités app allows users to buy passes and scan phones instead of using physical cards

The Passe Navigo is the travelcard used for Metro, bus, rail, and tram journeys in Paris. It has finally come to Apple, allowing riders to buy passes from the Île-de-France Mobilités iOS app or directly from Apple Wallet and use an iPhone or Apple Watch to ride public transport.

To add a Navigo card to Apple Wallet, users need to have updated their iPhone with the latest version of iOS. Some Navigo passes, such as annual and Liberté passes, are not yet available on the app. Once on the Purchase tab of the IDFM app, users need to select "on my iPhone" and then the pass they want to add.

For occasional or regular travelers, and for tourists with a compatible phone, this is a convenient way to use public transport in Paris.
