Celtics Take Early Lead and Never Look Back
The Boston Celtics opened the NBA Finals with a dominant 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night at TD Garden. Jason Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 29 points, while Jaylen Brown added 23 points and 6 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis made his return to action from the injury and contributed 25 points for the Mavericks.
Celtics Defense Stifles Mavericks
The Celtics' defense was suffocating in Game 1. They held the Mavericks to just 36.7% shooting from the field and forced 16 turnovers. They also limited Luka Doncic, Dallas' leading scorer, to just 20 points on 7-of-22 shooting.
