Turner Scores 20 Points, Pacers Rally to Beat Pistons 115-109, Spoil Bickerstaff's Debut
Pacers overcome 16-point deficit to win
DETROIT (AP) - Myles Turner scored 20 points, including the go-ahead basket with 1:17 left, and the Indiana Pacers rallied from a 16-point deficit to beat the Detroit Pistons 115-109 on Wednesday night, spoiling the coaching debut of J.B. Bickerstaff.
Turner, Sabonis lead Pacers
Domantas Sabonis had 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Pacers, who have won two straight. Malcolm Brogdon added 18 points and T.J. Warren scored 17.
Jerami Grant scored 26 points for the Pistons, who have lost three straight. Josh Jackson added 18 points and Isaiah Stewart had 15.
Pistons take early lead
The Pistons led by as many as 16 points in the first half and took a 62-52 lead into halftime. But the Pacers chipped away in the third quarter and took their first lead of the game, 83-82, on a 3-pointer by Brogdon with 2:33 left in the period.
Pacers pull away in fourth quarter
The Pacers pushed their lead to 10 points in the fourth quarter and held on for the win. Turner's go-ahead basket came on a driving layup after he grabbed a miss by Sabonis.
Bickerstaff, who was hired by the Pistons on Monday, made some lineup changes in his debut, but the Pistons still struggled to find consistency on offense. They shot just 42.5% from the field and were 10 of 32 from 3-point range.
The Pacers, meanwhile, shot 49.2% from the field and were 12 of 28 from 3-point range.
The Pacers will host the New York Knicks on Friday, while the Pistons will host the Washington Wizards on Saturday.
