The Chicago Bears announced Monday the signing of quarterback Trevor Siemian. The 30-year-old has 48 career NFL starts, including 24 with the Denver Broncos from 2016-18. Siemian provides depth behind the Bears' projected starting quarterback Justin Fields. Veteran Andy Dalton, the Bears' starter in 2021, was traded to the New Orleans Saints last week. Siemian started three games for the Saints in 2021, completing 59.1% of his passes for 857 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. He has thrown for 8,401 yards with 41 touchdowns and 33 interceptions in his career. The Bears also announced Monday the release of quarterback Nathan Peterman. Peterman, 28, has started six games in his NFL career, most recently in 2020 with the Las Vegas Raiders.
